DJ Luigi of Latin Groove
DJ Luigi, was born in Cali, Colombia. His passion for music inspired him to create “Latin Groove”, a DJ service organization wich is a medium for sharing the wealth of the hispanic culture trough music. Orquesta Mayor
The Orquesta Mayor was formed on April 26, 2006 by director Helder Serralde with the purpose of giving good quality of music to the audience wherever they stand. The Orquesta Mayor is composed of 12 professional musicians from different nationalities such as Puerto Rico, Cuba, Peru, E.U.A. and Mexico, all of them sharing the same love for the art of music. Some of the events that Orquesta Mayor has participated in are the International Festival of Spartanburg, S.C., Festival of the Carolinas, N.C. and the Dominican Festival of Charlotte, N.C. just to mention a few. In these festivals the Orquesta Mayor has been named the orquesta of the United Nations because of the diversity of its musicians.

Doing what they do best, Cheko and Amaya are combining styles and genres on the new album in such a way that it has made Revolution: Genesis the source for upcoming names in the music industry. From electro-pop to hip-hop the mixing of cultures has helped this album find its identity in a massive way, with catchy hooks and banging percussions the producers' passion project hopes to bring the very best to their loyal and ever-growing fanbase. Cheko stated, "Our main focus is to bring new artists to the studio and together try to expand music styles and develop new things to share with our fans."
The first single "Dame Calor" was released in late February 2010, featuring Baby C, Levi, and Neftaly. The Album is set to release on Fall 2010.
Buen Ache seeks to preserve and teach about Afro-Latino culture by telling stories through dance. The company features dancers from Burundi, France, Puerto Rico, Trinidad and Tobago, the United States, Vietnam, and other countries. The dance company is based out of Charleston, SC. Maria Voisin & Dulcinea
Dulcinea is an all ladies Modern Latin dance team which fuses Salsa, Mambo, Afro Cuban, Flamenco, and Modern techniques. Choreographer, Maria Voisin has been dancing salsa since 1996. Maria spent her youth dancing merengue in the Dominican Republic during her summers and started formal Latin dance studies with her first trip to Cuba in 1999 where she studied at The National School of the Arts (ENA) in Havana. She returns to Cuba frequently to continue her studies in Afro-Cuban folkloric dance and culture, and continues to participate in dance immersions throughout the world. This summer she studied Flamenco in Granada, Spain. Maria teaches Afro Cuban and Ladies Styling at Congresses and weekend events around the USA. Emcee - Tara Lynn
Tara Lynn is the co-anchor for News 2 Today and News 2 Midday. She first joined News 2 in June 2006 as a reporter and producer. Tara also organizes and heads the internship program at News 2. She was the winner of the 2009 Dancing with the Local Stars competition at the Charleston Cinco de Mayo Festival.
Tara graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she earned her bachelor's degree in Electronic Journalism and a minor in Spanish. Tara reported and anchored for the University's Emmy-winning live newscast, Carolina Week.
Arthur Murray Dance Studio
Marina and Luis will be performing a rumba and a salsa routine. Marina Fridmanovich, originally from Russiais a professional Ballroom and Latin Dancer; finalist, semi and quarter of many European and Russian competitions, champion of national Cup of Russia in 1997, 1999 and 2000, second place in 2001 and 2002. She is currently teaching and coaching in Arthur Murray Dance Studio.
Luis Boria is a renown Latin dancer coming to us from the Island of Puerto Rico. Luis has shared his passion in dance with others for over 6 years, and has been a certified dance specialist at the Arthur Murray Dance Studio in Charleston for the past two. Luis Boria was our first ever Dancing With the Local Stars Champion with Z93 Jamz talk show host Tessa Spencer in 2008, and has taught and performed in countless other shows, workshops, and events including our wonderful Cinco De Mayo Festival!
